According to a statement from Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company, more
than 94 agreements and contracts were signed with Iranian knowledge-based
companies during the 2024 Petrochem Expo, setting a new record for domestic
industrial collaboration.
Among the most notable achievements is the domestic production of
critical seawater pump components—considered the "beating heart" of
the complex—which are essential for supplying cooling water to major units such
as olefins and aromatics. Previously reliant on imports, these components are
now produced locally, significantly reducing operational risks and ensuring
more stable production.
In the electrical and instrumentation domain, complete redesign and
local supply of control circuits and electronic components for synchronous
motors in the Low-Density Polyethylene (LD) unit—originally commissioned in the
1970s—have been carried out by an Iranian tech firm, mitigating long-standing
risks due to lack of spare parts.
Moreover, the strategic chemical Diethyl Hydroxylamine (DEHA), used in
water treatment and polymerization inhibition, has been successfully
synthesized domestically with industrial-grade purity. Previously imported,
this material is now in use within the SBR and MTBE units of the complex.
These achievements highlight the growing technological capacity of
Iranian firms and their pivotal role in reducing foreign dependency and
strengthening local supply chains in one of the country’s largest petrochemical
hubs.
