TEHRAN, Sept 9 (NIPNA) – The 19th IranPlast International Exhibition is proving to be a hub for innovation and idea generation in Iran’s petrochemical industry, officials said.

Arash Najafi, head of the Energy Commission of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, described the event as more than a product showcase, emphasizing its role in fostering new initiatives. “Unlike traditional oil exhibitions, IranPlast has a strong commercial and technical focus, providing companies with a platform to present products in a targeted, professional manner,” he said.
Najafi highlighted the broad applications of petrochemical products in daily life, ranging from detergents and packaging industries to household items and storage equipment. “The diversity of polymer applications presents a wide market for producers. Exhibitions like IranPlast allow companies to enhance their products and rethink how they present them,” he added.
He also stressed the importance of scientific and technical discussions at the exhibition, which can promote structured innovation in production and design. Najafi underscored ongoing support from the Chamber of Commerce for petrochemical companies and related associations, noting that such backing extends beyond words to practical engagement with the government.
“IranPlast demonstrates the resilience and potential of the domestic industry, providing hope and motivation even under challenging conditions such as international sanctions,” he said. “The exhibition shows that there is still ample room for creativity, innovation, and growth in Iran’s petrochemical sector.”
The four-day event, which runs until Thursday, features over 700 Iranian and 67 foreign companies, showcasing the latest developments in plastics, polymers, and related technologies.
