According to a statement from Gachsaran Polymer Industries Company,
the 30-meter-tall, 32-ton hexane distillation tower — with a diameter of 2.2 meters
— was fully manufactured domestically by Azarab Company in Arak. The locally
engineered unit is seen as a step forward in boosting national self-sufficiency
and reducing the outflow of hard currency.
"This achievement reflects our reliance on local capacities,
cutting-edge technology, and skilled domestic expertise," the statement
read, underscoring the strategic value of indigenous manufacturing in
large-scale energy projects.
The Gachsaran polyethylene complex is classified as a top-priority
initiative by the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC). The project has now reached 47% overall
progress, with engineering work reported at 86.5% completion.
Once operational, the complex is expected to strengthen Iran's
polyethylene production capacity and support the broader value chain within the
country’s petrochemical sector.
