Ramazanali Sangdovini, head of the Joint Committee on Energy and
Industry of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, said the committee convened on
Monday to discuss the general provisions of the NPC charter in the presence of
NPC Managing Director Hassan Abbaszadeh and committee members.
“In this session, the general framework of the NPC charter was
reviewed, and both lawmakers and NPC officials exchanged views,” Sangdovini
told NIPNA.
He added that the meeting concluded with an agreement to wait for
formal feedback from the government, the Ministry of Petroleum, and the
Administrative and Recruitment Affairs Organization before proceeding with
further deliberations. A follow-up session is scheduled for next week.
“With the parliament’s presidium assigning this matter to the joint
committee, we are committed to pushing the review process forward with
precision and speed,” Sangdovini said. “Our aim is to finalize the draft and
present it to the open session of Parliament as soon as possible.”
The NPC charter is expected to clarify the company’s strategic role,
governance structure, and responsibilities in Iran’s petrochemical sector, a
critical pillar of the country’s economy.
