The turnaround, which began in early May, focused on the facility’s
key Olefin unit and extended to other core sections including Butadiene,
storage systems, and critical utilities (C/F units).
The overhaul aimed to modernize infrastructure, enhance safety, and
improve operational reliability. Among the completed tasks were a full
refurbishment of the cracked gas turbine and compressor for the first time in
14 years, the renovation of 16 heat exchangers, retrofitting of seven
switchgear units, and functional inspection, repair or replacement of dozens of
valves and control systems.
The overhaul also included precision calibration of 35 sensitive
meters, replacement of environmentally critical flare valves, process
optimizations in storage and backup lines, and installation of four new
expansion joints.
The company said the extensive work was carried out under strict
safety protocols and continuous HSE monitoring, with round-the-clock
collaboration between staff and contractors. All units have now reentered
service at full capacity.
Amir Kabir Petrochemical emphasized that the successful completion of
this project sets the stage for future expansion and strengthens its position
in both domestic and export markets.
