TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The CEO of Tabriz Petrochemical Company (TPC) said the plant had plans to diversify its output by building a 310,000-tonne high-density polyethylene (HDPE) unit.

Siavash Darvishi told NIPNA about signature of a contract with the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PRTC) for building the plant which would be built by fully relying on local technical savvy.

He said: “This is an honor for TPC that after many years of reliance on foreign knowhow and licensing, is now about to supply the global markets with a fully localized product.”

Derafshi said the project would take 4 years to complete, adding it would yield pipe and film-grade polyethylene besides a catalyst production unit.

Moreover, the plant would be fed by West Ethylene Pipeline.

Inauguration of the plant will enhance TPC’s production capacity of polyolefins and polyethylene, he further added.
