Speaking at a meeting of the Petroleum Ministry’s council of
deputies, Bovard praised the efforts of former Petroleum Minister Mohsen
Paknejad and said ongoing production and development programs would continue
under the government’s policy of consensus and cooperation.
He said the ministry was pursuing a comprehensive program to
rebuild facilities damaged during the recent war and advance oil sales, with
the aim of successfully navigating the challenges ahead.
National Approach Needed
Bovard called on oil industry officials and employees to
work together to overcome the country’s current difficulties and adopt a
national approach in their efforts.
He credited both current and former managers with the
achievements of the Petroleum Ministry, saying significant measures had been
implemented under the previous minister.
“If we are in a position today to say that the current team
has succeeded, an important part of that is due to the performance of the
former petroleum minister,” Bovard said, adding that the ministry would
continue along the same path with determination.
He acknowledged that differences could exist in management
approaches or implementation methods, but said such differences should not
disrupt the industry’s main course.
Winter Fuel Supply a Priority
Bovard said ensuring stable winter fuel supplies should
receive particular attention given damage inflicted on gas industry
infrastructure during the recent conflict.
He called for cooperation and coordination among all parts
of the oil industry to maintain stable production and secure winter fuel
supplies.
Based on reports from the National Iranian Oil Products
Refining and Distribution Company, liquid-fuel storage levels were currently
adequate, Bovard said, while stressing the need for effective fuel distribution
management.
He also called on the National Iranian Gas Company to take
appropriate measures to curb excessive consumption and promote responsible gas
use.
“If we can achieve a 10% reduction in consumption, it will
be a very significant achievement,” he said.
Bovard also urged the public to cooperate with the
government in ensuring stable winter fuel supplies, particularly by managing
their use of gas and other energy carriers.
Petrochemical Exports Support Foreign-Currency Revenues
Bovard highlighted the petrochemical industry’s role in
supplying the country with foreign currency, saying continued production and
exports of petrochemical products would contribute to foreign-exchange revenues
and support the broader economy.
He said the government would therefore pursue measures to
sustain production, remove obstacles to exports and make maximum use of the
industry’s available capacity.
Bovard also called for the identification of the oil
industry’s main challenges and priorities, urging officials to continue working
together to ensure that operations and development programs remain on track.
“What matters is that the work does not stop,” he said.
