TEHRAN, October 6 (NIPNA) -- Iran’s Acting Petroleum Minister Hamid Bovard has stressed the need for full coordination across the gas production, transmission and distribution chain to ensure stable energy supplies, particularly during the cold months.

Speaking during a visit to the National Iranian Gas Company’s (NIGC) Dispatching Center on Tuesday, October 6, Bovard highlighted the center’s key role in managing the country’s gas network and maintaining the stability of supply.

“Stable energy supplies, particularly during the cold months, require full coordination among gas production, transmission and distribution,” Bovard said, emphasizing the critical role of the dispatching center in managing the nationwide network.

The acting petroleum minister also heard about the concerns and challenges facing NIGC managers and called for the prompt follow-up and resolution of existing issues. He stressed the need to make maximum use of the gas industry’s available capacities to maintain network stability.

Bovard also praised the round-the-clock efforts of gas industry workers and underlined the importance of deploying new technologies, upgrading monitoring systems and strengthening operational readiness to respond to different scenarios.

Multiple Scenarios Prepared for Winter

NIGC Managing Director Saeed Tavakoli, who accompanied Bovard during the visit, outlined measures being taken to maximize gas supply. He said the company was making every effort to increase production and had brought forward part of its scheduled major maintenance and overhaul activities.

Tavakoli also pointed to the possibility of gas supply pressures in some provinces during the coming winter, saying that scenarios had been prepared for all provinces. These scenarios will allow the company to manage the network and plan gas supplies based on the specific conditions in each region.

During the visit, officials at the gas dispatching center presented reports on gas production, transmission and distribution, the network’s readiness for demand management, and plans to maintain stable gas flows. They also outlined key challenges across different areas and presented their recommendations to the acting petroleum minister.

Bovard ’s visit provided an overview of the latest measures being taken to monitor, manage and control Iran’s nationwide gas network ahead of the winter season.
