Speaking at a meeting with chief executives and senior managers of
petrochemical companies operating in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in
Mahshahr on Tuesday, Shakeri praised the companies for their efforts during the
recent war and said cooperation among petrochemical complexes and projects had
helped ensure supplies for domestic industries.
He said greater coordination among petrochemical companies, together
with implementation of approved contingency plans, had helped achieve planned
objectives for managing emergency conditions during the conflict.
Shakeri said such specialized meetings could provide an effective
platform for identifying solutions to the industry’s various challenges, adding
that consultations among companies could help resolve issues more efficiently.
He also called on petrochemical complexes to pursue coordinated and
systematic planning to implement broader production-growth programs.
Social Responsibility Remains a Priority
Shakeri also highlighted the role of corporate social responsibility in
supporting development in communities surrounding petrochemical facilities.
Petrochemical companies, he said, should go beyond production and
development activities and pay serious attention to their social
responsibilities toward neighboring communities.
During the meeting, executives of petrochemical companies operating in
the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone presented issues and challenges facing
their respective companies.
