Shakeri said his visits to damaged complexes in the Petrochemical
Special Economic Zone in Mahshahr were aimed at reviewing reconstruction
challenges and speeding up the return of units damaged in attacks to
production.
He described the reconstruction and restart of facilities affected
during the war as a national necessity, saying the Petroleum Ministry was
giving the issue particular attention.
Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad had instructed that any obstacles to
the reconstruction of damaged industrial facilities should be removed, Shakeri
said.
“The Petroleum Ministry stands alongside petrochemical companies to
accelerate the return of these units to conditions prevailing before the war,”
he said.
During meetings with chief executives of petrochemical companies in
Mahshahr, managers’ proposals and recommendations for boosting activity in the
petrochemical industry were also reviewed, Shakeri said.
He said it had been agreed to establish a joint task force to assess
existing challenges and develop appropriate measures to support the
petrochemical industry.
“The objective of this task force is to formulate a special support
package for petrochemical industries and create the conditions needed to revive
industrial activity in the Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone,”
Shakeri said.
During a two-day visit to the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone on
Sept. 29-30, Shakeri visited Bandar Imam Petrochemical, Karoon Petrochemical,
Amir Kabir Petrochemical, Razi Petrochemical and Fajr Energy Khaleej Fars to
review the latest reconstruction and recovery measures.
He also visited the Mahshahr center of the National Petrochemical
Company’s Research and Technology Company and the Petrochemical Terminals and
Tanks Company, and held meetings with managers of petrochemical companies
operating in the region.
