The updated document was reviewed during a meeting between Deputy Petroleum
Minister and NPC CEO Omid Shakeri and Mohsen Asadi, deputy head of the Passive
Defense Organization for energy affairs.
The document was developed following a series of technical meetings
between NPC and the Passive Defense Organization, drawing on lessons learned
from two recent wars lasting 12 and 40 days.
Ensuring continued petrochemical production is considered particularly
important given the industry’s role as a key pillar of the national economy and
its contribution to meeting domestic needs.
The second edition of the production-continuity document reflects
lessons from the two recent conflicts, particularly attacks targeting
petrochemical facilities during the latest conflict.
It outlines key strategies for reducing risks and strengthening the
resilience of the petrochemical industry under different levels of
passive-defense readiness.
The document is expected to provide a framework for petrochemical
companies and holding groups to maintain production continuity and strengthen
preparedness in crisis conditions.
