The self-sufficiency committee of the plant has so far
localized manufacturing and technological know-how of over 20 items used in the
plant’s operations in line with the principles of economic resilience.
Domestic manufacturing of the items was carried out by
reverse engineering of the experts at the facility and entailed designing, manufacturing
and installation of the items.
Karoon Petrochemical Company is the first supplier of isocyanates
in the Middle East and consumes chlorine, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, toluene and
nitric acid as feedstock.
