TEHRAN, Sept. 7 (NIPNA)— Iran will deploy all available gas production and liquid-fuel capacity to ensure stable fuel supplies during the winter, Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad said.

Speaking on Monday on the sidelines of a meeting of the Energy Imbalance Resolution Headquarters, Paknejad said the oil industry would use its full capacity to increase gas and liquid-fuel output, particularly diesel.

“We will use all our available capacity in gas production and liquid fuels, particularly gasoil, to help secure winter fuel supplies,” Paknejad said.

He added that part of the industry’s available capacity would gradually increase as previously lost production capacity is restored.

Paknejad said the ministry aims to maximize available supply during the colder months, particularly during periods when the country faces heightened demand and specific supply pressures.

The minister’s comments come as Iran prepares for the seasonal increase in energy consumption typically associated with winter, when demand for natural gas and liquid fuels rises across the country.
