A technical review of the system was held under the
supervision of the ministry's Information Technology Development, Security and
Smart Government Directorate-General and hosted by the National Iranian Oil
Company (NIOC), according to Shana, the Petroleum Ministry's news service.
The ESB serves as an infrastructure layer for exchanging
information and connecting electronic services, supporting interoperability and
integration across the oil industry's digital systems.
During the meeting, officials agreed to submit details of
the system's compliance with the technical and security requirements for
information exchange centers to Iran's Information Technology Organization.
The requirements will be reviewed under the framework of
Article 7, Note of the National Data and Information Management Law. A further
meeting is expected to secure the visiting team's approval and advance the
final stages of the center's authorization, the report said.
The initiative forms part of the Petroleum Ministry's
broader efforts to establish data-driven governance, improve information
quality and expand the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence
across the sector.
The ministry began implementing its data-governance
framework about a year ago under Article 107(p) of Iran's Seventh National
Development Plan. Key measures include appointing data supervisors and
developing an oil-industry data-governance platform.
The platform's first phase is under implementation, with its
unveiling scheduled for the end of the Iranian year 1405, which falls in March
2027, according to the report.
The ministry expects improved data exchange infrastructure
and greater interoperability between systems to facilitate structured access to
organizational data, strengthen data security and quality, and support more
effective decision-making and operational efficiency.
The technical review was attended by officials from NIOC and
the Petroleum Ministry, as well as representatives of the Information
Technology Organization, including Mohammad Armanfar, NIOC's information and
communications technology director, and officials responsible for
cybersecurity, smart government and national information exchange
infrastructure.
