Speaking at a ceremony in Khuzestan attended by Roads and Urban
Development Minister Farzaneh Sadegh and other national and provincial
officials, Movahedizadeh thanked employees of the petrochemical industry for
their continued work during the attacks and the subsequent recovery period.
He specifically praised Mohammad-Reza Motiri, chief executive of the
Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization, for his crisis management and
efforts to safeguard the region’s vital infrastructure under difficult
conditions.
Movahedizadeh said emergency teams, particularly firefighters and
health, safety and environment personnel, responded promptly to incidents at
petrochemical facilities, helping contain hazards, extinguish fires and support
the stability of production.
The governor also highlighted the morale of injured petrochemical
workers whom he visited in hospital, saying their continued commitment to their
responsibilities demonstrated the readiness of operational personnel to work
under difficult conditions.
Movahedizadeh said he considered it important to visit Mahshahr on his
first trip to the city and personally thank employees of the Petrochemical
Special Economic Zone who remained on duty both during the attacks and
throughout the reconstruction effort.
He also called for greater cooperation and cohesion among government
institutions and other national bodies, saying coordinated efforts were
essential to maintaining stability and responding effectively to crises.
The Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in Mahshahr is home to a major
concentration of Iran’s petrochemical production facilities and related
infrastructure, making the protection and rapid restoration of its operations
strategically important for the country’s industrial output.
