Hassan Abbaszadeh, deputy petroleum minister and
CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), announced the achievement
during a visit to Assaluyeh, coinciding with the inauguration of several major
production and infrastructure projects in the petrochemical sector. The
openings included new ethylene, ethylene glycol, and utility units at Bushehr
Petrochemical Complex.
“These inaugurations bring the nominal production
capacity of Iran’s petrochemical industry above 100 million tons, a landmark we
celebrate as the ‘Hundred-Million-Ton Petrochemical Industry’,” Abbaszadeh
said. He noted that the sector is now on track to reach the 131.5 million-ton
target outlined in the Seventh Development Plan.
Abbaszadeh emphasized the role of significant
investments, highlighting projects by Shastan, a subsidiary of the Armed Forces
Retirement Fund, which have provided key infrastructure supporting industry
growth.
He also stressed that these developments
strengthen production capabilities, expand value chains, and deliver tangible
benefits to both the industry and the public. Abbaszadeh concluded that, guided
by the Supreme Leader’s directives and national development strategies, Iran is
moving steadily toward a robust and sustainable petrochemical sector.
