Speaking to NIPNA, NPC HSE Director Ali Emadi said that an
integrated HSE management system, aligned with other organizational processes,
provides the necessary framework for effective risk management and ensures
sustainable production in the petrochemical sector.
Emadi praised the successful organization of the sixth specialized
operational evaluation of Oil Ministry firefighters, noting that physical
readiness combined with operational knowledge was key to the strong performance
of petrochemical fire brigades in the event.
He added that the evaluation was “not merely a test but an opportunity
for firefighters to demonstrate their physical endurance, technical skills, and
operational readiness under realistic mission conditions.” Continuous training
and teamwork, he said, were central to maintaining calm and focus during
crises.
Emadi emphasized the importance of holding such assessments regularly,
saying they enhance confidence, motivation, and professional competence. “The
higher the operational readiness, the greater the safety and peace of mind for
employees and industrial facilities,” he stated, underscoring the role of
ongoing education and recruitment of skilled personnel.
He noted that investing in scientific training and attracting
qualified specialists are essential for improving safety in petrochemical
firefighting units. “Only by combining knowledge, skill, and experience can we
achieve high levels of safety and operational preparedness,” he said.
According to Emadi, NPC’s HSE management has prioritized empowering
incident commanders and operational teams through specialized training
programs, while upgrading modern, efficient firefighting and rescue equipment
for concentrated petrochemical zones remains under active development.
