Seyyed Abbas Salehi, Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance
and head of the Commission on Access to Information, praised Petroleum Minister
Mohsen Paknejad for fully implementing the law on the publication and free
access to information.
He said the ministry’s compliance supports government efforts to
promote justice, transparency, and accountability in public institutions.
The recognition follows a year-long assessment of the Petroleum Ministry’s
headquarters and its subsidiaries, which include the National Iranian Oil
Company, National Iranian Gas Company, National Iranian Oil Refining and
Distribution Company, and numerous provincial gas companies, among others.
Iran’s national information portal (iranfoia.ir) enables citizens to
request information from government and public service organizations in line
with the law, ensuring greater transparency and public oversight, the report
added.
