“The project, carried out in coordination with the South Railway
Department, is estimated to take four to six months. The contractor has already
begun initial preparations,” said Mohsen Bahrami, acting head of engineering at
PETZONE.
He said the rehabilitation will not only preserve existing
infrastructure but also reduce highway congestion, cut fuel consumption and
environmental pollution, and lower transport costs for petrochemical producers.
It will also improve safety, decrease road maintenance expenses and extend the
life of highways.
Bahrami added that rail development, as a key pillar of multimodal
transport, plays a vital role in the movement of feedstock and products in the
petrochemical sector, enhancing efficiency and competitiveness.
He stressed that the project aligns with PETZONE’s development plans,
aimed at improving supply chain and logistics for resident industries.
