TEHRAN, July 22 (NIPNA) — The Board of Directors of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) convened on Wednesday evening under the leadership of Omid Shakeri, Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Acting Head of NPC, to discuss institutional governance reform and executive leadership changes.

Addressing the board, Shakeri underscored the imperative of sharpening NPC's regulatory and oversight role within Iran's petrochemical sector, calling for structural model updates and internal process optimization.

Human Resources Leadership Transition

A core agenda item during the session was the formal introduction of Kamran Dehghani as the incoming Acting Director of Human Resources Development at NPC.

Shakeri expressed confidence in Dehghani's background, acknowledging his early career roots at Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company and his subsequent high-level administrative posts across the broader energy ministry. The acting head also commended outgoing HR Director Reza Khalaj for his service and stewardship.

Institutional Experience Profile

During the session, Khalaj presented an overview of key human resources initiatives completed during his tenure, after which Dehghani outlined strategic priorities for workforce planning and management development moving forward.

Dehghani brings extensive senior management experience across the Petroleum Ministry’s administrative hierarchy, having previously served as:

  • Director General of Training and Human Resources Development at the Ministry of Petroleum
  • Director General of Organizational Structure and Methods at the Ministry of Petroleum
  • Director of Administrative Affairs at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC)
