According to the company, the lab is equipped with advanced
instruments, including a spectrometer, optical microscope, metallographic tools
(such as sample preparation and polishing units), macro hardness testers,
thickness gauges, color and coating testing systems, thermographic devices,
ferrite content analyzers, and other specialized equipment.
The facility significantly boosts testing speed, precision, and
reliability, enabling in-depth failure analysis for technical units and
supporting overall operational efficiency.
Designed to expand its capabilities, the lab is expected to obtain
ISO/IEC 17025 certification in the near future, after which it will be able to
offer specialized services to other PGPIC subsidiaries.
Mahmoud Amin-Nezhad, PGPIC Vice President for Planning and Business
Development, visited the site prior to the opening, where he reviewed
production, equipment supply, and feedstock logistics with senior managers. He
emphasized that stable, high-quality output remains a top priority this year, noting
that petrochemical development is a driving force of Iran’s economy and
requires precise planning to increase capacity and efficiency.
Seyed Reza Ghasemi Shahrudi, CEO of Shahid Tondgouyan Petrochemical
Complex, also highlighted the challenges of sanctions, stressing the critical
need for a reliable supply of feedstock and equipment to maintain operations.
He noted that as Iran’s sole producer of polyester chain products, the complex
is increasingly dependent on secure access to raw materials and parts.
