According to the Petrochemical Industries Development Management
Company (PIDMCO), the shipment arrived on site yesterday after completing
customs procedures. The first compressor has already been successfully
installed.
The equipment consists of two screw-type compressors, each mounted on
75-ton skids and powered by 3.5 MW motors.
The Bandar Imam ethane pre-extraction unit is designed to process
55,000 barrels per day of C2+ feedstock from the Hoveyzeh Gas Refinery in the
Persian Gulf. It will yield 475,000 tons of ethane annually, supplying
feedstock for the Mahshahr Diamond Olefin Project and the Bandar Imam olefin
unit, in addition to producing approximately 950,000 tons of C3+ products per
year for the NF units at Bandar Imam.
The project contract was signed in March 2022, with engineering
activities commencing the same year. The unit, which has now surpassed 70%
physical progress, is scheduled for commissioning in the final quarter of the
current year.
PIDMCO is overseeing project management and supervision through a
specialized team working closely with both the client and contractors to ensure
timely execution.
