The meeting, hosted in the Shahid Hemdani Hall of the Petrochemical
Special Economic Zone Organization, aimed to foster collaboration among
internal research and maintenance teams to strengthen domestic manufacturing
and reduce reliance on imports.
Ghodratollah Nasiri, Director of R&D, Technology, and Localization
at the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), highlighted the need for clear
criteria to prioritize vital equipment in the industry. “These sessions aim to
develop structured localization programs based on defined indicators and to
present them to knowledge-based companies,” he said.
Nasiri emphasized that this approach will meaningfully support local
manufacturers and decrease dependency on foreign imports. He also noted that
the Petrochemical Industry Technology Development Roadmap is nearing
completion, outlining a clear path over the next four to five years toward
transitioning to Industry 4.0.
Gholamreza Keshkooli, Head of R&D at the Petrochemical Special
Economic Zone Organization, stated that these meetings are designed to
harmonize research, technology, and localization processes across companies in
the region. He expressed confidence that the outcomes would enhance national
capabilities in producing essential petrochemical equipment.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Iran’s petrochemical sector
to build a resilient and self-sufficient industrial base by bridging the gap
between innovation and maintenance through structured national collaboration.
