Ali Rabani, Director of Energy Efficiency at the National
Petrochemical Company, described the initiative as part of the “Energy Pulse”
campaign, which aims to reduce energy consumption by 10%. Households
participating in the program earn points and entries into prize draws based on
their energy savings and engagement in educational activities.
Rabani noted that the campaign has grown rapidly, with 262,000
households registered this year, up from 140,000 last year. The program
incentivizes reductions in gas consumption across different consumer
categories, rewarding sustained savings with additional prize opportunities.
As part of the campaign, the first batch of equipment to combat the
invasive Araujia plant was donated to the NGO “Ideal Land,” supporting efforts
to preserve the Hyrcanian forests. Rabani encouraged citizens, particularly in
Gilan, Mazandaran, and Golestan provinces, to join the initiative via the
website nabzenergy.ir to contribute to national energy savings and
participate in the rewards program.
The initiative demonstrates how Iran’s petrochemical sector is
integrating social and environmental responsibility with nationwide energy
efficiency efforts.
