Hassan Abbaszadeh, NPC’s managing director,
visited several major utilities and infrastructure operators in the Pars
Special Economic Energy Zone on Wednesday, including Damavand Energy Assaluyeh,
Petrochemical Terminals and Storage Company, and Mobin Energy Persian Gulf.
The visit aimed to assess the progress of ongoing
infrastructure projects and identify operational bottlenecks affecting new
developments in the region, which hosts the South Pars gas field and is central
to Iran’s petrochemical value chain.
Abbaszadeh described South Pars as a cornerstone
of the national economy, and said completing foundational projects was a
prerequisite for ensuring sustainable development in the petrochemical
industry.
“South Pars is the beating heart of the country’s
petrochemical sector, and achieving long-term development goals depends on
coherent management and precise planning to finalise strategic projects in this
region,” he said during meetings with company executives.
He also underscored the importance of
coordination among companies operating in Assaluyeh to optimise energy use and
reduce environmental impacts, adding that expanding shared infrastructure and
improving efficiency remain strategic priorities for NPC.
The field visit was conducted as part of broader
efforts to address execution challenges and prepare a comprehensive roadmap for
new development phases in the Pars zone, with the aim of boosting production
and strengthening Iran’s position in global energy markets.
