Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad said the
ministry is prioritising the settlement of claims for eligible serving and
retired employees, stressing that while precise calculations require time, the
process will be pursued with urgency and in line with legal requirements.
“The determination of the Ministry of Oil to
resolve this matter and implement it fully and without shortcomings after ten
years is serious,” Paknejad was quoted as saying by the state-run SHANA news
agency.
He said the full implementation of the “initial
employment salary table,” an annex to the oil industry’s administrative and
employment regulations, has been placed on the ministry’s agenda, with
calculations being carried out under the existing executive pay framework.
Paknejad added that relevant departments,
including human capital development and legal affairs, have been instructed to
review all legal and regulatory capacities to ensure employees’ statutory
rights are upheld and the issue is addressed at its root.
According to the minister, a legal consensus has
been reached confirming the clarity of existing laws and regulations, paving
the way for the full enforcement of the employment table and the processing of Article
10 claims within the established legal framework.
He noted that calculations will be conducted
after detailed reviews and assessments, taking into account statutory
deductions such as taxes and pension contributions, as well as legally mandated
caps on service years.
“Accurate calculations take time,” Paknejad said,
“but every effort is being made to ensure this issue is handled as a priority
and implemented in the shortest possible timeframe.”
