The inaugural meeting was attended by Mohsen Moghaddas, Deputy of
Arbitration and Mediation at the Judiciary’s Dispute Resolution Center, and
Hassan Abbaszadeh, CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and Deputy
Minister of Petroleum, alongside commission members.
Abbaszadeh highlighted the rapid growth of Iran’s petrochemical sector
and emphasized that coordination between government authorities and companies
is essential for sustainable production and resolving inter-company challenges.
He added that the commission, supported by the judiciary, would help minimize
disputes and foster greater industry cohesion.
Moghaddas noted that the commission will focus on professional
arbitration and mediation in line with national judicial policies, including
the directives of the Supreme Leader and the Judiciary’s emphasis on
alternative dispute resolution. He stressed that specialized working groups and
committees will handle cases to ensure informed decision-making by experienced
experts.
The commission’s establishment is part of broader efforts to
streamline dispute resolution and support the objectives outlined in Iran’s
Seventh Development Plan.
