The robot, designed in collaboration with Vira Afrand Siraf Robotics Institute in Bushehr, was evaluated by four international judges and recognized for its environmental and engineering applications, Nouri Petrochemical said in a statement.
Hamid Rajai, head of product development, technology and innovation at Nouri, said the robot uses advanced artificial intelligence to detect, collect and separate oil slicks from water surfaces with high accuracy and speed. “This is a significant innovation in both environmental protection and robotics engineering,” he said.
The project’s booth attracted strong interest from visitors and judges during the competition, with the team presenting details of the robot’s development and future upgrades. Winning the award also secured eligibility for participation in next year’s global event, Rajai added.
The FIRA RoboWorld Cup, considered one of the world’s leading robotics competitions, drew more than 2,000 participants and 700 teams from countries including the United States, Britain, Germany, Canada, Russia, China, Taiwan, Iran and Brazil.
