“The government has endorsed a CSR bylaw for state-linked companies,
and we will prepare a comprehensive guideline in cooperation with petrochemical
holding groups to facilitate its implementation,” said Hassan Abbaszadeh,
deputy petroleum minister and NPC chief, at the sixth meeting of the Supreme
Council for CSR in the petrochemical sector.
He said regional strategic councils in Assaluyeh, Mahshahr and Makran
play a central role in coordinating CSR programs among petrochemical companies
and must ensure projects already approved or underway are completed with
determination.
Abbaszadeh added that strategic councils should regularly review and
monitor CSR projects.
According to NPC, the cabinet passed the CSR bylaw in early July on
the proposal of the Plan and Budget Organization, in collaboration with the
labor ministry and the government’s information council.
Under Article 5 of the bylaw, companies that approve a CSR budget in
their general assembly must submit proposed projects to the council’s
secretariat by the end of October each year. All CSR measures will also be
published in a designated online platform to ensure transparency and public
access.
