TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The Deputy Petroleum Minister and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) announced the finalization of a feedstock supply contract for the Hegmataneh Petrochemical Complex, aiming to complete the production chain through a sustainable, localized feedstock solution.

Speaking during the Judiciary Chief’s visit to the Hegmataneh complex in Hamedan — part of a broader effort to address production challenges and revive operations — the NPC CEO expressed gratitude for the judiciary’s support and provided updates on recent measures taken.

“In recent days, we have focused on securing feedstock supply for the complex. Fortunately, with a contract now nearing finalization, we are optimistic about completing the value chain and utilizing the existing investments. The goal is to source feedstock from within the province,” he said.

The CEO noted that the necessary infrastructure, including a pipeline, is already in place. “Once completed, this pipeline will allow us to eliminate the costly and inefficient process of transporting feedstock by truck from the south of the country.”

He stressed the strategic goal of building a feedstock production unit adjacent to the complex, ensuring long-term operational stability and eliminating past disruptions.

The government and NPC currently hold a 35% stake in the project, while the remaining shares belong to private sector partners. “In cooperation with the project’s major private shareholder, we are ready to co-invest in establishing the feedstock unit. Encouragingly, the private partner has also expressed readiness to contribute,” he added.

The Deputy Minister concluded by expressing hope that continued progress and strategic decisions would lead to lasting stability and development for this key industrial complex.
