The agreement focuses on enhancing the skills and employment
opportunities of young job seekers in the region, with an emphasis on training
and certification in various technical fields.
Abdulmajid Hayati, the Social Responsibility Consultant for
the Pars Special Economic Zone, stated that the collaboration would enable
local job seekers to participate in a six-month, free skill-building program
offered by Damavand Energy, with successful participants receiving certificates
upon completion.
“The Pars Special Economic Zone has long faced a shortage of
skilled local workers, particularly in the petrochemical sector,” Hayati said.
“While local workforce employment has always been a priority in the South Pars
region, the lack of specialized labor has forced many companies to recruit
outside of Bushehr province.”
In his remarks, Hayati emphasized that the empowerment of
the local workforce was a critical component of sustainable development in the Assaluyeh
area, a region known for its energy and petrochemical industries. The agreement
is seen as a key step toward addressing the skills gap and providing local
youth with the tools necessary to enter the labor market.
The MoU aligns with the Iranian government’s national focus
on investment for production, as announced for 2025, and aims to strengthen the
region’s workforce by providing specialized training tailored to the needs of
local industries.
The program will target young men and women who hold at
least a high school diploma and meet specific technical and professional
criteria through an interview process. Participants will undergo on-the-job
training at various Damavand Energy facilities over a six-month period, after
which they will receive official certification from the Pars Special Economic
Zone Organization.
Hayati expressed optimism about the potential impact of the
MoU, noting that the program would initially serve local communities in Dayyer,
Kangan, Assaluyeh, and Jam, with plans to extend to other cities in Bushehr
province in the future.
“We aim to eliminate unemployment in the region by providing
sustainable job opportunities for local youth,” Hayati concluded.
