Ali Golmoradi, a member of the energy committee of the parliament, said regarding the vast potentiality of the petrochemical industry for production of items, the sector cannot be targeted by sanctions, even though development of some projects could be hampered by the sanctions.
"Development of the sector can never be stopped," he said.
He announced the parliament's support for the petrochemical industry, saying, "Today, the petrochemical industry is an influential sector for curbing sale of crude oil and gas."
The MP said the petrochemical industry was the basis of industrial development in the country. "The sector is one of the strategic sectors of the economy that require special attention to produce value-added items from crude oil."
Fortunately, the country's macroeconomic management has given a special focus to the petrochemical sector in recent years, and the industry is now growing and is on the path to development, he added.
