Speaking at a high-level gathering of researchers and technologists on
Saturday, Mohammad Kermani, Chairman of the Board at PRTC, stressed the
importance of innovation and knowledge-based development in driving the
industry forward. “Petrochemicals must evolve through strategic research and
cutting-edge technology,” he said. “Only then can we secure our position in the
global market.”
Kermani underlined the need for cohesive collaboration across research
entities, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders. “Scientific
research should fuel national progress,” he said, “and our goal must be to
transform R&D into a foundation for a knowledge-driven economy.”
He also highlighted the potential for expanding exports of proprietary
technologies and catalysts, encouraging researchers to aim beyond domestic
boundaries. “With the right infrastructure in place, we must pursue
internationalization and enhance scientific cooperation while targeting the
export of technical knowledge and products,” he said.
Artificial intelligence, Kermani noted, will be central to the next
phase of innovation. “AI offers transformative potential, and we are actively
developing plans to integrate it into petrochemical research workflows,” he
added.
He emphasized that unified collaboration across the value
chain—especially with petrochemical holdings—is key to unlocking the sector’s
full potential. “We share a single identity: the petrochemical industry.
Through synergy and strategic alignment, we can chart a successful path
forward,” Kermani concluded.
