According to Seyed Mohammad Hossein Jazayeri Mousavi, CEO of Gachsaran
Polymer Industries, 91.4% of the current workforce is made up of local hires,
with 82% drawn specifically from Gachsaran County — figures he described as
“unprecedented” for a petrochemical development of this scale.
The project, which is being implemented under an EPCC (Engineering,
Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) contract model, currently employs
over 550 people, Jazayeri said in a company statement. He emphasized close
cooperation with local labor authorities to prioritize the recruitment of
skilled regional workers.
“This approach reflects our serious commitment to using local
expertise wherever possible,” he said, noting that the significant workforce
increase is closely linked to recent capital inflows.
Backed by one of Iran’s major petrochemical holding companies, the
Gachsaran HDPE project is considered a strategic extension of the Bidboland Gas
Refinery and Gachsaran Olefin complex. It has received priority status within
the group’s investment portfolio.
“Thanks to increased funding over the past three months, we have
scaled up employment in line with project acceleration,” Jazayeri said,
expressing hope that the upward trend in both funding and hiring will continue
in the months ahead.
