PRTC to Localize Strategic Catalysts by 2022

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The CEO of the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PRTC) announced that the company would finalize localization of 9 strategic petrochemical catalysts by 2022.

Ali Pajouhan said by the end of the Iranian calendar year of 1400 (March 20 2022), Iran would be supplying over $100 million worth of catalysts locally.

He also said PRTC would complete localization of 9 catalysts within the next two years.

The official, referring to the technical know-how being developed at PRTC as well as cementing commercial contracts in this regard, told NIPNC that his company had so far inked 20 contracts for commercialization of items.

He also said that PRTC was currently engaged in 70 research projects which would lead to signature of contracts in the future.

Pajouhan further stated that PRTC was also closely working with Tondgouyan Petrochemical Plant for production of PET for whose purposes a pilot plant had already been constructed.

He also added: “GTPP for West Islamabad is another activity that started this year. We have started with basic methanol and pvm engineering documents and we have currently progressed up to 38% in this project and hopefully by the end of the year a large part of work will be completed.”
