According to Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh,
director of production control at National Petrochemical Company (NPC), the
country's petrochemical production stood at 27 million tons in the first 6
months of the year, adding the amount its 5% higher than the same period last
year.
The value of the produced items rose by
12% from last year, he said, adding sales also rose by 7%.
The official further said Iran has also
exported 15,000 tons of polyethylene to various Asian countries during the period.
He said most of Iran's exports are
destined to far Asia to countries like India, China and South Korea, adding
exports to Africa have also increased and will grow even more in the future.
