CEO: NPC Determined to Localize All Petchem Industry Needs

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Morteza Shahmirzai, the Deputy Minister of Petroleum and CEO of National Petrochemical Company (NPC), affirmed the commitment to domesticating all the requirements of the petrochemical industry, aiming for complete self-sufficiency within the next four years.

During his visit to the booths of domestic manufacturers on the first day of the 28th Iran Oil Show, Shahmirzai stated: "We are determined to localize all the needs of the value-added petrochemical industry and will achieve complete self-sufficiency within the next four years."

He continued, mentioning the various petrochemical projects active nationwide and emphasizing that Iranian manufacturers can fulfill many of the needs of these projects to foster production growth.

The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company added: "Maximizing the use of domestic producers and manufacturers to transfer technical knowledge, localize production, and develop new technologies can lead to the realization of planned developments in the petrochemical industry."

Shahmirzai stressed that Iranian companies must become more active in supplying goods for the first time, stating: "Petrochemical projects and complexes represent the largest market for Iranian manufacturers."

Referring to the government's strategies in the petrochemical sector, Shahmirzai highlighted: "The most important strategic part of the National Petrochemical Company is completing the value chain development and supporting startups, domestic production, and localization of catalysts."

He emphasized the government's strategy in production, maximizing the utilization of installed capacities in the petrochemical industry through knowledge and domestic manufacturing.

The 28th International Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Exhibition commenced today (Wednesday, May 8) at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground.

Under the slogan "Oil Industry, Production Leap, and Technological Optimization," this event runs until May 12.
