TEHRAN (NIPNA) - The Deputy Minister of Petroleum and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company urged project managers in the Parsian Energy Zone to prioritize carbon management strategies and the elimination of gas flaring.

During a visit to the Parsian Energy Zone and discussions with petrochemical project managers, Morteza Shahmirzaei, the Deputy Minister of Petroleum and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, expressed satisfaction with the progress of projects in the region but called for greater attention from stakeholders to expedite project implementation.

"Although the progress of implementing projects in this region is satisfactory, shareholders need to pay more attention to accelerating project implementation processes," Shahmirzaei stated.

Highlighting the importance of utilizing the capacities of domestic producers and contractors in the implementation of petrochemical projects in the Parsian Energy Zone, he added, "It is essential to expedite the operational process of power plant construction concurrently with connecting this region to the national electricity grid in Asaluyeh."

Shahmirzaei emphasized that the presence of adequate infrastructure in this area, including export docks, could pave the way for the development of the petrochemical industry and increased exports in the country.

The reduction of flare gas emissions and effective carbon management have become critical issues globally, especially in industries such as petrochemicals, where significant emissions occur during production processes.
