TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Considering the necessity of identifying and managing the costs associated with the waste of valuable products and minimizing gas flaring as an environmental concern, Tabriz Petrochemicals Company (TPC) has carried out a project aimed at reusing the recovered monomers of butadiene.

According to TPC, at the PBL section of the ABS unit of the facility, after the reaction, the unreacted monomers of butadiene are recovered. Based on the unit’s design, the recovered monomers are transferred to the TK-403 tank which can cause explosion and environmental hazards.

Considering the necessity of identifying and managing the costs associated with the waste of valuable products of the company and minimizing flaring as one of the environmental projects of TPC, a project aimed at reusing the recovered monomers of butadiene has been defined and reviewing the processes at the olefin and BD units was put on the company’s agenda.

By completion of the project, the recovered butadiene is sent to the TK-804 reservoir as feedstock for the BD unit. This could be translated into production of roughly 1000kg of butadiene per day.
