A member of the planning, budget and calculation committee of the
parliament, Gholamali Jafarzadeh Imen Abadi, told NIPNA that Iran’s economy is
currently latched onto the petrochemical industry for generation of wealth,
adding one of the main axes of development is bolstering the petrochemical industry
which can wean the economy off sale of raw materials and provide feedstock for
downstream industries.
He said realization of a generative and developed economy needed
application of appropriate mechanisms in tandem with the available industrial and
economic means in the country.
“To achieve this goal, all decision-makers and economic managers are
required to sketch plans for the development of the basic infrastructure in the
country, and the development of petrochemical industries is one of such
infrastructures.”
