Speaking to NIPNA, Hossein Amiri Khamkani underlined
the massive potentialities of the petrochemical industry in Iran, adding:
"Iran's geographical situation makes it an unparalleled country among
gas-rich states for developing petrochemical projects."
"The existence of downstream petrochemical
industries is one Iran's major advantages; an advantage that none of
the countries in the region actually possess, and it should be noted that Iran
has a high potential in development of downstream projects in the Middle East
region," the MP added.
Iran has grown so much in the field of downstream industries
and the growth of human resources in this industry has also been a lot, he
added, saying: "In the future development plans, the focus should not be
on upstream petrochemical projects only, but downstream projects must also be
considered, and the parliament is ready for any kind of cooperation and support
in this regard."
Investing in the petrochemical industry is one of
the ways to prevent crude oil sale; the industry is economically lucrative and
can also generate jobs, so everyone should support the balanced development of
the sector, Mr. Amir Khamkani added.
