Iran to Launch Green Petchem Tank Farm by March

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran is to launch its first green tank farm aimed at storing petrochemical liquids by late March.

Managing director of Assalouyeh Green Tank Farm Petrochemical Company Rastegar told NIPNA that the project has progressed over 83% and will come on-stream by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20.

"The Green Tank Farm is a strategic unit for storage and transportation of petrochemical liquids in phase two of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone in Assalouyeh (south of Iran)," he said.

He said the farm is equipped with propane and butane tanks that need between 18 to 24 months for construction and can persevere temperatures below -60 degrees, adding the tanks will come online in the first half of the next year.

The farm, covering 47 hectares of land, can store up to 1.3 million tons of petrochemicals and its methanol tank will store up to 1.65 million tons of the item annually.
