Speaking to
NIPNA, Esmaeil Mousavi said some countries have recently imposed anti-dumping
tariffs on import of certain items but the duties have not created any trouble
in production and export of the company’s crystal melamine.
He said his
company exports the item to various countries in Asia and Europe, adding, “We
have no trouble selling the product and are currently exporting it to various
countries including Turkey, Singapore, Spain, Italy, Germany, etc.”
An
anti-dumping duty is a protectionist tariff that a domestic government imposes
on foreign imports that it believes are priced below fair market value. Dumping
is a process where a company exports a product at a price lower than the price
it normally charges on its own home market.
