Farnaz Alavi,
director of planning and development at NPC, told NIPNA about NPC's priorities,
saying the company has devised plans for production of new items aimed at
generation of more valued added from crude oil and gas.
She said
the state-of-the-art technologies are needed in order to ensure development of the
sector, adding production of new grades of petrochemicals would generate huge
value-added and will help complete the value chain in the sector.
"It
will also enhance efficiency of operations in the industry and help reduce sale
of crude oil and gas," she said.
"Attraction
of fresh investments in the sector, importing the latest technologies to the
country, tapping available potentialities in R&D operations, partnership of
domestic manufacturers and integrity of all active sectors in the industry can
pave the way for materialization of NPC's plans," Alavi further said.
She said
Iran enjoys unparalleled advantages in petrochemical sector which include
abundance of accessible feedstock, skilled labor and proximity to high seas.
