Following a meeting with executives from
Germany's industrial gases company Linde on Tuesday, Amir Hossein Zamaninia, deputy petroleum
minister in international affairs and trading, said the country is about to sign several deals with international companies for developing petrochemical projects.
Underlining the "very
favorable" progress made in talks with leading international companies for
developing projects in Iran, especially European ones, the official added that the presence of
energy majors like Total, Shell and German firms in Iran can be taken as an indication of the arrival of new investments and technology transfer to the country's petrochemical industry.
Foreign companies do stress long-term
presence in OPEC-member Iran, he added, saying talks are on the go with them at the moment.
Enjoying Iran's favorable geographical
situation, abundant feedstock and skilled labor, competitiveness, stability and
security are some of the advantages of investment in the country for foreign
companies, the official added.
During their Tuesday meeting, Zamaninia,
and Managing Director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marziyeh Shahdaei
discussed cooperation with Linde in major petrochemical projects in Iran.
Also in the meeting, Zamaninia voiced
Iranian Ministry of Petroleum readiness to support international energy and
chemical majors in Iran.
