Maroon Petchem Plant Signs Deal with Linde for Building Ethylene Production Unit

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran’s Maroon Petrochemical Plant has signed a deal with German chemical giant Linde Group for building a new ethylene production facility.

Rahim Sharif Mousavi, the plant’s managing director, said the deal has become effective and the Germans are undertaking engineering of the project.

He said completion of the project will add 17% to the company’s production capacity.

“The unit is being developed with the hope of supplying feedstock to the facility’s units and boosting its polypropylene output,” he added.

He said optimization of energy consumption at the plant and updating procedures and operations at the plant are other goals pursued in the project.

In other news, Jam Petrochemical Plant has also announced it is in talk with the German company for technology transfer and license acquisition for increasing the facility’s ethylene output by 10%.
