The country's production rose from 40.6 million metric tons per year in 2013 to 50.6 mt/y in 2016, a report by the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said.
Moreover, the country's installed production capacity rose by at least 9% during the period as 12 new projects with 5 million metric tons/year of capacity came online since 2013.
Furthermore, production capacity of Iranian petrochemical facilities is nearly 62 mt/y, up from 56.7mt/y in 2013.
Export of petrochemicals has also seen 27% growth under president Rouhani, as export of petrochemicals reached 27.6 mt/y in 2016 from 21.7mt/y in 2013.
NPC says most of the boost is indebted to implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which Iran struck with the P5+1 group of countries over its nuclear agenda in 2015.
