The official, addressing the opening ceremony of the first Clean Development Mechanism (CD) at Shiraz Petrochemical Plant on Monday, said a review of the conditions of petrochemical companies it is easily understood that such companies have taken major steps in line with the Supreme Leader’s instructions and the Rouhani Administration’s mandate to save the environment.
She said environmental goals must be defined at the beginning of all energy projects, adding green design in energy projects must become institutionalized in them.

The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is one of the Flexible Mechanisms defined in the Kyoto Protocol (IPCC, 2007) that provides for emissions reduction projects which generate Certified Emission Reduction units (CERs) which may be traded in emissions trading schemes.
