7th Methanol Project Reaches 88% Completion

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Marjan Petrochemical Project (7th Methanol Plant) reached nearly 88% (exactly 87.73% completion) by January 19, end of the calendar month of Dey.

 

Being developed at the phase II of the South Pars gas field, the project had made precisely 77.59% progress by August 21.

Once operational, the facility will supply 1.65 million tons of petrochemicals. 

All the equipment and machinery for completion of the project has been supplied and will be installed at their designated spots. 

Sata Investment Company has bought 67% of the project’s stocks and has so far invested IRR 887b for completion of the project. 

Marjan Petrochemical Project is dubbed as the 7th methanol project at Pars Special Energy Economic Zone and is regarded as one of the country’s biggest methanol projects. 

The project is being developed under a 4-year contract valued at €500m.

The plant will be fed by 5.1 billion normal cubic meters of natural gas annually and will receive its utilities from Damavand Petrochemical Plant.
