TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran’s export of petrochemicals will rise by at least 10% year-on-year by the end of the current calendar year to March 20 2017, a senior petrochemical official says.

Speaking to NIPNA, Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of production control at National Petrochemical Company (NPC), said export of petrochemicals is going on as planned thanks to implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

He said Iranian exporters currently have no trouble in exporting their items and demand from European customers has risen dramatically for Iranian petrochemical products since JCPOA implementation.

Bossaqzadeh, who is also a member of the board of directors of the NPC, said a jump in production and export of petrochemicals has been envisioned in the 6th development plan of the country.

He also expressed optimism about the future of the sector in Iran given the existence of promising infrastructure in the country.
